What do you get when you blend the genres of americana, folk, country, and rock from all over the US and infuse it into the Pacific Northwest? We consider ourselves defined by not one genre but a collective of thoughts and influences from all over. That’s the secret sauce here. The band is based in the Columbia River Gorge, a natural playground just east of Portland, Oregon. The Columbia River Gorge cuts right through the Cascade Mountains, creating a beautiful outdoor wonderland that inspires us. The whole band shares the common love for recreating in the outdoors and performing music, so there is no wonder we get such a natural, fluid, original sound.

The Greenneck Daredevils have been around for 10 years now and have seen the look and feel of the band change with time. To cap off this first decade we have gone into the studio and taken the sound we curated on stage over the years and made our first full length album, Gypsy Road. We have been working hard and really feel the true Greenneck sound is just starting to surface. We’ve said goodbye to some, and hello to others, but we have stood the test of time and are coming out into our second decade stronger than ever!

Look for the release of Gypsy Road early 2021…

Billy Sheeley

Billy is our fearless leader, our Greenneck in charge. He brought his talents and his passion for entertainment to the Gorge back in 2007 and we haven’t been the same since. Whether on stage, on the river, or on the mountain, he brings it every time. Thanks Billy!

Finn Anderson

The key to any great band is a solid foundation, and Finn exemplifies that quality as our bass player. Whether it’s teaching music or playing a gig, Finn has great instincts, a great ear and rock solid rhythm! Even though he is the newest member of the band it feels as though he has always been a Greenneck.

Matt Bio.jpg

Matt Farmer

A true original, Matt has been with the Greennecks since it’s inception. One of the true driving forces behind our sound, the only things bigger than his biceps are his heart and his mandolin skills.

Doug Stepina

Doug joined up the Greenecks in 2021 on the Fender B Bender Telecaster guitar. Doug fronted punk, indie rock and alt country bands in Chicago, Honolulu and Portland between 1995 and 2014 before moving to the Gorge and founding the cosmic country band Antonyms in 2015. He draws influence for his work in the Greenecks from other great B Bender players like Clarence White, Marty Stuart and Brent Mason, but with a rock education and sensibility.

Joe Silliman

Joe joined the group a few years after we got started and things definitely haven’t been the same since. The addition of drums no doubt solidified our direction as a rock band and we’re okay with that. His rock-steady beat is the driving force behind our ability to bring life to any dance floor and the best part is he just loves to have a good time.
